TWINING: A Project that blends Clara Collins’ poems with Paul Rabinowitz’s photographs

From Clara:

The atmospheric, deeply human quality of Paul Rabinowitz’s photography resists simple narrative. His work is able to catch the language of gesture and stillness, framing the unsaid as it is communicated through the face or body.

From Paul:

Clara Collins’ rich and graceful poetry seems to float above the page like a feather slowly descending. Her intimate and evocative language feels deeply rooted in personal memory. The reader is drawn into her experiences, leaving us with a lingering sense of reflection that engages the senses. 

Our collaboration has highlighted for us the unique way written and visual art can interact, create new depths and reveal unseen elements in both mediums. The pairing of photography and poetry has been a year-long, expansive process that has allowed us to unearth new layers of meaning in our respective art forms.
